Secrets to a rush-free picture perfect wedding morning
The average 21st century lady has at one time or the other fantasized about her wedding day. In fact, every bride-to-be must have at some point imagined her look for that special day. Today however, smartphones and the social media make it all so easy for intending brides to access amazing contents from whence they can draw wedding inspiration. While many awaiting brides have countless screenshots of wedding pictures and video clips saved to their phones, many others have saved to their Instagram collections, even more. The truth, well, is every bride deserves the most mind-blowing of photos from her wedding day.
The secret to having a perfect wedding morning which results to a beautiful wedding day isn’t much of a secret. I am as a matter of fact sure you somehow know if at all, at least some. So, the essence of this article is to reiterate the obvious with a view to highlight how to make the secrets work for you. As you already know, the role of a wedding planner in making this happen can’t be overemphasized. But just in case you find yourself going through your wedding without one, these 10 tips will doubtlessly guide you along the path of having that wedding morning of your dream
1. Figure out the exact things you want and write them down. You want to exchange gifts with your fiancée? You want to dance in your bathrobe with your maids? You wanna toast with champagne glasses and have pictures of it? Your wedding day isn’t a day to rely on your super amazing memory as it might fail you. So write all you want and hope for, down! The main thing here is to figure out the memories you’d like to have days after the wedding even as you stay realistic and true to yourself. There is no point wanting a ‘bath-in-the-Jacuzzi’ shot when the hotel you’d be lodging does not have Jacuzzi!
2. Create a wedding day timeline. A timeline is a display of a list of events in chronological order. It’s a lifesaver, even for event planners, so never underestimate its power. Structure it well, allot time for every item on the list you have made and ensure it goes up on every room that it concerns; bridesmaid, bride, vendors, etc. You also can share with them a few days/at least a day before.
3. Plan to wake up early (and include in your timeline). As your favourite wedding planner who has not only been a bride-to-be but also, been through this with several brides, I personally would recommend a wake-up time of at least five (5) hours before the start time of say, your Church/Nikkah programme. If it starts at 9am, waking up at 4am is simply the best bet! This way, your makeup and hair styling can run from 5am- 7am, leaving you over one hour for all the ‘paparazzi’ and around 30 minutes to finish up with dressing and another 30 minutes to get to the venue.
4. Create a picture list and discuss with your photographer ahead. Check here for inspiration https://bit.ly/2PK6JNO
5. Hire a good makeup artist. HIRE A GOOD MAKEUP ARTIST! As much it’s ok to try and get low cost vendors for your wedding, you shouldn’t compromise quality for any reason; and if at all, not for your Makeup. This is because you would be on the spotlight throughout your day and your makeup is something you’d get to see in ALL your wedding pictures for the rest of your life. So do hire a professional. Try all you can to even have a trial, just to be sure the make-up artist knows how to beat your face to perfection. The good news by the way is we at Rightessential Event do help our clients get best quality vendors at the most affordable prices. *winks*
6. Make a music list. You know that song that gets you all smiling, don’t you? Never underestimate the impact of good music on a bride’s mood. Make a list that includes songs that reminds you of how much you love your Fiancée, songs that speak to your soul, etc. I for one, liked Bruno Mars’ Just the way you are while glamming my face and Ed Sheraan’s Perfect while putting on my dress. Mushy, right!? LOL! And if you can, go a step further by compiling the songs on your phone or a micro player assigning your CBM to play them as required.
7. Be Comfortable with your photographer. This is sure very important. Get accustomed to him or her during your pre-wedding session and make sure to be okay with them, for your own sake. This helps you have the best of pictures as you respond positively to their cues.
8. Remember the little things: Don’t ignore the mundane little details that could have a big impact on your photos. For instance: if you’re drinking water with a plastic container while getting ready, a plastic bottle will be in all of your shots. Since this is something you wouldn’t like, be sure to have a nice drinking glass, so it adds to the image rather than be a distraction.
9. Carefully choose your bridal train and make sure to get them involved. Choose your ladies wisely; cut down on numbers if possible because the more people, the more problem. Choose people from your inner circle that genuinely care about your happiness, and involve them in your plans so they can help.
10. Relax and enjoy your day! Keep worries abay and truly enjoy your day. You’re marrying the love of your life, remember? Do not let your mind wander. Focus on the beautiful things and the end goal no matter how things turn out, as you can’t fake a genuine smile just for pictures. Also, before posing for portraits, roll your shoulders a few times to release tension. It will make you look more relaxed in pictures.
